Encryption of Information Requirements

The Financial Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Regulatory Notice 10-59 requires the encryption of information to be provided by a portable media device.

The 10-59 regulatory notice was an approved amendment to the FINRA rule 8210 by the SEC that became effective in 2010. This regulation expects the following content channels to be in compliance: email, instant messaging, social media, text/SMS, audio, video, website and blogs. The global regions for the FINRA Regulatory Notice 10-59 are North America and the United States.
