The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, or known as CFTC, adopted rules to implement the Commodity Exchange Act, or in short CEA, related to swapping data recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
This rule applies to derivatives clearing organizations, swap execution facilities, designated contract markets, swap dealers, major swap participants, swap data repositories, and swap counterparties who are neither swap dealers nor major swap participants. The goal if this legislation was to increase transparency, reduce risk and promote market integrity within the financial system.
The content channels expected to be in compliance include: email, instant messaging, social media, text/SMS, audio, video, website and blogs. The regulated regions are North America and the United States.
