Policy Based Email Encryption with Smart Delivery™
Email is firmly established as a key business communication channel. However, communication used through email involves risks. Intellectual property or other sensitive information may be intercepted, then read, deleted or altered before it reaches its intended destination.
Regulations and legislation are also increasingly holding businesses responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of the information they send via email.
The potential price of failing to ensure adequate protection is hefty. Many organizations do not take the steps necessary to safeguard the privacy and integrity of their email communications. Although encrypting email generally represents the best solution, not all currently available encryption services offer businesses the certainty, ease of use and affordability they require.
How It Works
Emails sent are redirected to one of Erado’s SecureMail email encryption centers, where the body and all attachments are scanned with our deep scan technology for Personal Identifiable Information (PII). If no PII is found, the message is delivered as any other normal message.
When PII is found, the message is encrypted via our “Smart Delivery™” solution which automatically utilizes encryption technology that is secure and easy to read, based on the recipient’s address.
SecureMail can be used with virtually all POP3/IMAP email accounts, MS Exchange accounts, and internet mail servers. When coupled with Erado’s email archive and journaling services, an unencrypted copy of each message is captured and processed for archiving and supervisory requirements.
